Science World After Dark 19+ Event (Aug 1)

This exclusive event for “big kids” is a perfect fusion of entertainment, education, and pure fun where you can explore the exhibits at your own pace.

The Chilliwack Corn Festival is back and a-maizing as ever! Participants can choose the family-friendly short maze which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, or a longer and even more challenging maze which takes 35 minutes.
This year’s theme is Luke Bryan, and for the first time ever there will be a new 2-day festival with music and food on August 2nd and 3rd.

Langley Dive-in Movie (Aug 1 & 22)

Add a splash to your movie night in Langley this summer. The Township of Langley is offering an epic Dive-In Theatre as part of its Summer Special Events at Aldergrove Community Centre Outdoor Experience.
Returning in July, there will be a special movie night (in the water) on selected Thursdays. For July 18th, the movie is Kung Fu Panda 4.

Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival (Aug 1-4)

Free Night at the Art Gallery (Aug 2) FREE
The Vancouver Art Gallery launched a new pro/gram in May, where entry is free on the first Friday of every month.
Attendees can enter between 4 and 8 pm. They will be offering educational tours and other programming free of charge. It’s also worth mentioning that children and teens aged 18 and under can visit the art gallery for free at any time, thanks to a program launched last summer that runs for five years.

Othello Tunnels re-opening (Aug 19) FREE
After enduring the aftermath of a colossal atmospheric river event in 2021, the iconic Othello Tunnels in Coquihalla Canyon Park have remained closed until now.
The extensive damage means that repairing the entire trail will take a long time. The partial reopening was originally planned for mid-July, however it was then pushed due to unexpected rock instability. Fortunately, as of August 19th, the repairs have finally been made, and the first part of the tunnel has been reopened to visitors.

Cypress Mountain Coaster

Waterparks

Make a splash at one of the best water adventures in and around Metro Vancouver that are actually fun for adults too.
- Cultus Lake Water Park – With over 11 waterslides, five large hot tubs throughout the park, a lazy river, and four children areas, Cultus is considered the largest waterpark in British Columbia.
- Big Splash – Only half an hour drive away from Vancouver, this park has massive waterslides, including a 6-storey tube slide called the Boomerang (the only one in Western Canada), adult hot tubs, main pool, kids splash pad, a patio area, and more.
- Harrison Water Park – Imagine travelling on a little boat to go to a floating water park in the middle of a pristine lake. Then challenging obstacles mimicking a ‘Wipeout-style’ course you would see on the TV show.
