There are at least 26 TV shows scheduled for production in Hollywood North for September 2017. The BC Film industry and fans can look forward to 4 brand new series, 3 relocated series, 1 reality show, 1 pilot episode and 17 returning favourite including a revamped Once Upon a Time, a milestone thirteenth season of Supernatural and another special run for The X-Files.

The four new shows underway, which all had their Vancouver-filmed pilots picked up for a first season, are The Good Doctor starring Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel), Life Sentence starring Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), Siren starring Alex Roe and The Crossing starring Steve Zahn. The three relocated series to Vancouver are Colony from Los Angeles, SIX from North Carolina and California, and The Exorcist from Chicago.
Some of the stars you can expect to see around town during September include: Lucy Hale, John Cho, Olivia Munn, Jennifer Connelly, Melissa Benoist and the entire Riverdale cast including KJ Apa, Cole SProuse, Camila Mendes, Lilli Reinhart and new addition Mark Consuelos.

Vancouver welcomes production for this TV pilot episode which was originally slated for Toronto. Fingers-crossed the show gets picked up and stays in Vancouver long-term! The network has boasted its investment in the elaborate sets for the pilot production which is scheduled for a full five-week stint. Fingers crossed it gets picked up for a season order!

This American-Canadian co-production is a romcom-drama set in Portland. It’s about a polyamorous relationship and all the that ensues.
Season production for a number of other shows wrapped up in August including Beyond (Freeform), Dirk Gently (FX), Ghost Wars (Syfy) and The Green Beret Guide to the Apocalypse.
Earlier this year a number of productions were lured away from the BC film industry via new California tax incentives. Shows that left the city include Timeless (ABC), Legion (FX) and Lucifer (FOX). The losses seem to be balanced with others relocating to Hollywood North including SIX (History), The Exorcist (FOX) and Colony (USA). Plus there have been recent revival seasons for Prison Break and The X-Files as well as a number of Vancouver-filmed pilots that were picked up as new series.
