Metrotown Eyewear Robbery
Located in Burnaby’s Metropolis at Metrotown, Metrotown Eyewear is a shop that specializes in luxury eyewear, selling brands such as Gucci, Dior, Cartier, and Prada. The store has been open for less than a year, but this latest robbery is reportedly their third incident since opening in late 2025.
The theft occurred overnight on Thursday, October 15. In a video uploaded to Instagram, a masked person dressed in black can be seen scootering up to the store before shattering the shop’s windows with a hammer. The person then climbs through the now-broken window and takes all the glasses from a display case.
Shifting feeds, the video also shows further inside the store as the robber uses the hammer to break into even more display cases, taking the glasses and putting them into a bag.

Kwan writes in the caption, “Last night, my store @metrotowneyewear was broken into and $50k+ worth of items were taken. Our front entrance window and display cases were smashed as well. This is the 3rd time we’ve been robbed since opening… and we’ve been open for less than a year, in a mall that’s supposed to have 24hr security…”
Unfortunately, Kwan mentions that the only thing they can do right now is repair the store and keep the business running as they try to find the robber.
“If anyone has any information on this man or this incident, please reach out to me. The items he stole were mostly Cartier glasses/sunglasses, so if you see anyone selling a large quantity please lmk too!”
