Air Canada is introducing a new booking fee that can add up if you’re planning a trip for multiple people.

Soon to kick into effect, the airline will be adding a $30 non-refundable charge (plus applicable taxes) for those making bookings by phone with an Air Canada agent through the Contact Centre.

New Air Canada Booking Fee

The new $30 fee applies per person booked through phone. It also continues to apply for Aeroplan flight reward bookings made through Air Canada’s Contact Centre.

For example, if you’re booking for a family of four (including yourself), then you’ll be paying an extra $120, plus applicable taxes. Notably, this is specifically through Air Canada’s Contact Centre for a new reservation made with an Air Canada agent.

This additional charge can be avoided by booking through Air Canada’s website or app.

“Our Contact Centre agents remain available to provide expert guidance and personalized support when you need assistance, including in situations that may require additional care or cannot be completed through our self-service options,” the airline explained. “Customers who require specialized care and support, including those with accessibility needs, are exempt from the booking fee.”

Air Canada noted that there will be no change made to the support available to you, “and no booking fee will apply if your trip is affected by a delay, cancellation or other travel disruption.”

The new fee kicks in on October 15, 2026.
