28 TV Shows Filming in Vancouver This August

There are at least 28 TV shows scheduled for production in Hollywood North for August 2017. The BC film industry and fans can look forward to 6 brand new series, 2 relocating series, 1 reality show, 1 pilot episode and a whopping 18 returning series including The X-Files.

The six new shows shooting in and around Vancouver this month are The Good Doctor starring Freddie Highmore, Life Sentence starring Lucy Hale, Ghost Wars starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Siren starring Alex Roe, The Crossing starring Steve Zahn and The Green Beret Guide to The Apocalypse.

Some of the other stars you can expect to see around town this summer include: Olivia Munn, Jennifer Connelly, Melissa Benoist, Nathan Fillion, Donald Sutherland, John Cho and of course the entire Riverdale cast including KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Camila Mendes and Lilli Reinhart.

Ghost Wars

This paranormal action series stars Canadian actor Kim Coates from Sons of Anarchy and Vincent D’Onofrio. Plus legendary rocker Meatloaf.

Jade Fever

Starring: Bunce family / Narrated by Jason Priestley
Schedule: Until October 6, 2017

A reality television series about mining nephrite jade in British Columbia’s Cassier Mountain region.

Starring: Donald Sutherland, Cam Gigandet, Jeremy Sisto, Ray Winstone, Judith Shekoni
Schedule: August 8 – September 26, 2017

Mixed-martial arts and crime intertwine in Audience Network’s drama series Ice set in LA. It was craeted by Robert Munic who first interned on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Atoine Fuqua who is known for Training Day.

The comic book series of the same name by DC Comics’ Vertigo brings more zombies to the small screen. Robert Knepper known for playing T-Bag on Prison Break was made a series regular for the new season.

After the last season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow wrapped, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller went on to film the revival season of Prison Break in Vancouver as well.

Once Upon a Time

Season: 7
Network: ABC
Starring: Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Colin O’Donoghue
Schedule: Until April 2, 2018

Regular cast members Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), Rebecca Mader (Zelena), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Jared Gilmore (Henry) and Emilie de Ravin (Belle) have departed from the show. Emma and Belle will each appear in one episode in season 7 to wrap up their respective storylines.

That leaves Lana Parila (Regina), Robert Carlyle (Rumple) and Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) as OUAT veterans. They are joined by newcomers Mekia Cox (Tiana), Adelaide Kane (Drizella), Rose Reynolds (Alice), Dania Ramirez (Cinderella), Andrew J. West (older Henry) and Gabrielle Anwar (Lady Tremaine).

Vancouver welcomes production for this TV pilot episode which was originally slated for Toronto. Fingers-crossed the show gets picked up and stays in Vancouver long-term!
