The late 80’s slasher movie Child’s Play is getting a remake in Vancouver. That means.. CHUCKY! The franchise brings the horror to the 21st century with a hacked ‘buddy doll’. It’s scheduled for production in Vancouver from September 21 to November 2.

Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic is hitting the big screen on November 15, 2019 with a live-action and CGI animation movie. James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Ben Schwartz, Adam Pally, Neal McDonough and Natasha Rothewell star in the movie which is scheduled for production in town until October 15. Filming locations include Vancouver and Vancouver Island.

Good Boys

Langley boy turned Hollywood star Jacob Tremblay is leading the cast in this R-rated comedy. The 11-year-old Canadian Screen Award winner stars with Molly Gordon, Midori Francis, Keith L. Williams and Brady Noon. Read more about the Good Boys squad here.

Local filming locations will double as the San Fernando Valley where the group of boys find an adventure. Good Boys is scheduled to wrap up filming in town by September 11.

The Addams Family
Some eerily fun animation and digital effects are in the works at Vancouver’s Cinesite Studios which is producing the CG animated The Addams Family movie. Conrad Vernon, who directed Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party (also animated in Vancouver), co-directs with Greg Tiernan. The release date has already been set for October 11, 2019 just in time for next year’s Halloween season.

Vancouver’s Finn Wolfhard plays Pugsley Addams in this re-imagining. The actor and musician is known for his roles in Stranger Things and IT as well as his band Calpurnia. He’s joined by a star studded voice-cast including: Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Charlize Theron as Morticia, Chloe Grace Mortez as Wednesday, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandmama and Allison Janney as Margaux Needler.

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk produces and stars in the action-thriller movie Nobody. It’s about a man who defends a woman and has the consequences come after him. Nobody is scheduled to start production in town from September 10th.
