Winter In February
As for February in general, the Farmer’s Almanac predicted B.C. to have a warmer-than-usual winter in 2026. They weren’t wrong, considering that certain regions in B.C. have experienced absolutely no snowfall and spring-like temperatures. Although, places like southern B.C. were also expected to have above-normal precipitation, as well as flurries during colder periods. While most of those have passed (being in November and December), the next chance for snow comes in February, which is the following coldest period.

Moreover, Environment Canada meteorologists predicted southwestern B.C. to have a “near normal” winter this year.
Is Vancouver Getting Any Snow?
It’s possible! This week’s forecast is calling for showers throughout Friday and Saturday, with a short burst of sunshine on Monday and Sunday. Temperatures could reach -1°C and 0°C.
Following that, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 1°C and 0°C, bringing a chance of rain showers or flurries on Tuesday to Wednesday. Slushy conditions could be coming if the flurries come, rather than the rain.
For now, Environment Canada notes that there is a 60% chance of rain showers on flurries on Tuesday and Wednesday, during both the day and night.

Although, snow is more likely to occur at higher elevations. If you’re a skier or snowboarder, then this weekend and next week could be your time to hit the mountains.
