Now that it’s December, it’s a great time to get cozy in a Cineplex theatre and watch some movies. Whether you’re there to escape the chill or just want that classic film experience, Cineplex’s $3.99 movies are making your movie days affordable.
This is all done through the Family Favourites program. These films are meant for everybody, and are especially good for families. The showings are dependent on which location you go to, but these are the ones that are listed on the Cineplex website for December.

The Polar Express
This Christmas classic invites everyone to hop aboard the magical Polar Express. Learn all about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas. This is one of those films that’s best enjoyed with a hot chocolate.
The Elf on the Shelf Movie Magic: A Fox Club’s Christmas Tale and Santa’s Reindeer Rescue
This is two short films in one, both featuring the cast of Elf on the Shelf’s elves. The first– A Fox Club’s Christmas Tale– is a musical adventure set against the backdrop of the Northern Lights as Scout Elf Newsey Noel investigates the mystery of Santa’s flight.
Santa’s Reindeer Rescue instead follows the Elf on the Shelf crew as they try to figure out why Santa’s test flights have run into trouble. Packed with whimsy and holiday fun, these films are great to keep the wonder of Christmas going for the kids.
Movie tickets cost $3.99 for Cineclub members with their booking fee waived. Prices are $4.99 for Scene+ members ($3.99 + $1.00 online booking fee). The cost is $5.49 for all other customers ($3.99 + $1.50 online booking fee), plus tax. Programming is available on select Saturdays at participating locations.
