The final weekend of July is here in Vancouver and it’s ending with a bang. From fireworks to outdoor festivals, the 604 is buzzing with excitement this weekend.

19+ fun | 19+ Adult Nights At Playland

Playland is mixing things up this summer with the introduction of their all new 19+ adult nights. As a result, adults can now look to explore the park without a child in sight. The event will run every Friday in July, kicking off on July 7 and returning July 14, 21, and 28. Each event will run from 7:00pm through midnight.

Outdoor festival | Center Of Gravity – Kelowna 2017

Center of Gravity takes place from Friday, July 28th – Sunday, July 30th, 2017 at City Park. It features Snoop Dogg, Marshmello, Schoolboy Q, and Dr. Fresch.

Outdoor Movie | Theatre Under The Stars 2017

Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long

It plays from Friday, July 7th, 2017 – Friday, August 18th at Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl. Everyone’s favourite nanny captures hearts anew as she swoops in to teach the Banks family a lesson in love and imagination. Tickets range from $30 – $49.

Outdoor shopping | Night Markets

The Illumination Night Market, Richmond Night Market, and North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market are all now open. In addition, Fridays on Front, a brand new weekly night market experience in Downtown New West is now open. Fridays on Front will run every Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for eight consecutive weeks on the 600-block of Front Street.

Yoga | Free Outdoor Yoga At Kits Beach + Riley Park

Free outdoor yoga returned to Kitsilano Beach on Thursday, June 1st, 2017 and runs until the end of August. The daily free yoga classes are organized by Mat Collective. Not to mention, they will feature 1-3 classes each day with a variety of different levels.


Tours | Steveston Museum’s Walking Tours 2017

The guided walking tours explore the streets of historic Steveston in June and July. The tours begin from the Steveston Museum and Visitor Centre at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays and 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Honda Celebration of Light will return to English Bay as one of the most promising events of the summer. Back for its 27th year, this year’s thrilling lineup will include Japan, the United Kingdom and home team Canada. This Saturday, Japan will light up the skies in grand fashion. Cocktails | Natural Refreshing Cocktails Workshop

These natural cocktails, also known as shrubs, are a sweet and sour sipping or drinking vinegar. Made from a mixture of either fruits or vegetables and herbs, they are a base for cooling summer drinks with the addition of something bubbly. It takes place Saturday, July 29th from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Mackin House Museum.

Food trucks | Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest 2017

Canada’s largest one day food truck event is set to return to New Westminster on Saturday, July 29th, 2017. The Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest is in its 5th year and is a free event for anyone to attend. Food trucks will line the streets of Downtown New Westminster’s Columbia Street from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and offer endless tastings from 75+ food carts as a result. They include Amoda Tea, Arturo’s Mexico 2 Go, Beljam’s Waffles, Bobbie’s Food Truck, Brazilian Roots Truck, Bread & Cheese, and many more.

Basketball | Kelly Olynyk Vancouver Skills Clinic

Boston Celtics forward and former South Kamloops Secondary School Kelly Olynyk is coming to the Richmond Oval this weekend on Saturday, July 29th, 2017. The Kelly Olynyk Vancouver Skills Clinic is a two-day camp. Moreover, it is open for boys and girls ages 8-17.
