Gastown Steam Clock on Temporary Hiatus

Walk down Water Street, and you might notice a certain tourist object missing from its sanctioned resting place on the corner of Cambie Street. For eight weeks, the Gastown Steam Clock will be undergoing repairs at the fabrication shop at Manitoba Yards as mechanical failures involving with the loading of metal balls and related moving parts have been frequently reported over the past year.

Repairs were chosen to begin at the end of cruise ship and tourist season, with repairs expected to finish by early December.

The Gastown Steam Clock is anticipated to return to its spot by early December.
