Fall weather in Vancouver is nearly here, which means the wetter season is upon the us. But if you’re wondering how the entirety of autumn might look like, we break down all the forecast details so your plans can stay out of the rain.
FALL WEATHER IN VANCOUVER
SEPTEMBER FORECAST
September is halfway through, and so far it’s been a warmer-than-usual introduction to autumn. Conditions have remained warm and dry with temperatures generally hitting around 20 degrees or higher.
According to Environment Canada, you can expect this week (September 15 – 21) to be sunny with the occasionally overcast sky. Temperatures are predicted to sit around 20 degrees. Although, September 16 will reportedly see temperatures up to 27 degrees, with it feeling like 32 degrees.

The heat will begin to dissipate as September progresses, with temperatures expected to trend back to fall standards when October and November roll around.
OCTOBER FORECAST
The Weather Network notes that the rainy season will come on schedule in October. Vancouver will look more like Vancouver at this time, with “typical number[s] of fall storms for the south coast region.” Precipitation totals could potentially be above normal due to warmer-than-usual water temperatures. This means there is a chance for excessive rainfall, so don’t forget those umbrellas.
Temperatures are expected to be primarily cool, although the Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting that temperatures will be around 11 degrees– 2 degrees above average.
NOVEMBER FORECAST
It’s tricky to predict nearly two months into the future for weather, but The Weather Network does note that “near-seasonal temperatures [are] expected during late fall.” Essentially, expect standard Vancouver fare during November. Umbrellas, puffy jackets, all that good stuff.

If you’re a skier, you’ll be happy to know that The Weather Network also predicts that “ski season will be able to start close to on schedule.”
