Summertime’s here, so that means making a splash in the best bodies of water Metro Vancouver has to offer. And what’s better than a newly renovated and modern aquatic facility that cost the City of Coquitlam $32 million?
Set at the forest’s edge, this outdoor pool is a great place to have some summer fun while surrounded by lush greenery.
MUNDY PARK OUTDOOR POOL
Construction for Mundy Park Outdoor Pool began back in 2023 with a planned opening for summer 2024. Unfortunately, construction delays caused that date to be set back by a year, and has now opened for 2025’s summer.

The pool was previously known as Spani Outdoor Pool, built originally in 1972. This modernized version of the swimming facility now boasts a large number of amenities as well as accessibility features, so that everyone in the community can enjoy staying cool.
POOL FEATURES
Included in Mundy Park Outdoor Pool’s features are a leisure pool with a beach entry, splash area, lazy river, and a deep end. There’s also a lap pool and a warming pool.
For those that want to take a dive, there’s a diving board provided, too. The expanded deck spaces are perfect for lounging, or perhaps if you’re looking to sunbathe. It’s also a nice area for event hosting.
Besides that, there are tons of accessibility features. From a wheelchair-accessible ramp in the main pool tank to braille signage, Mundy Park Outdoor Pool is a place for everybody.

OPERATING HOURS
Mundy Park Outdoor Pool officially opened to the public on June 1, 2025. The full hours are listed on the City of Coquitlam’s webpage for the pool, but the general hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 8:30pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 am – 8:30pm.
The facility will be open until September 1, 2025, with the hours changing on September 2 until September 28, 2025.
If you’re planning on making a splash at the pool, do be sure to register online in advance, and note that it costs $2 per person.
