30+ Celebs You Might Spot in Vancouver This August

Continue your summertime search for celebs in Vancouver throughout August as there’s plenty of stars to gaze upon.


James Marsden

X-Men’s Cyclops aka James Marsden stars in the live-action & CGI animated Sonic the Hedgehog movie. He plays a sheriff in the beloved Sega video game character big picture. The estimated $90 milllion USD budgeted film is set for release on November 15, 2019 in time for the holidays.

Jim Carrey

Canadian comedy legend Jim Carrey plays the villainous Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Filming is scheduled in town until the end of September with additional production in New York.

Jacob Tremblay

11-year-old Vancouverite turned Hollywood star Jacob Tremblay is now a leading man as he heads the squad in the R-Rated comedy Good Boys. The Superbad-style movie is produced by fellow locals Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.


Lacey Chabert

Mean Girls and Party of Five star Lacey Chabert is also a Hallmark TV movie tycoon with over a dozen credits to her name. She’s back in town to reprise her role in All of My Heart 3.


Lori Loughlin

Aunt Becky aka Lori Loughlin is filming the sixth season of When Calls The Heart in town through October.


Grace Park

The international cast of ABC’s new family drama series features Vancouver’s own Grace Park who is known for Edgemont, Battlestar Galactica and Hawaii Five-O. It airs on September 26.

Seth Rogen

Proud Vancouverite Seth Rogen and writing/producing partner Evan Goldberg have their fingers in Good Boys, the R-Rated Superbad-style comedy starring fellow local star Jacob Tremblay. Rogen is one of the producers of the film.


Kiernan Shipka

Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka stars in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which films in Vancouver til December 5.


Sarah Jeffery

From J-Lo’s daughter in Shades of Blue to starring in the Charmed reboot right here in her hometown, Sarah Jeffery is on the rise!


Katee Sackhoff

Netflix sci-fi series Another Life stars Katee Sackhoff.

Will Sasso

Season 2 of comedy series Loudermilk films in town until August 30. Ladner’s Will Sasso known for his time on MADtv is one of the stars.

Laura Mennell

Another local stars in Loudermilk, Surrey’s Laura Mennell. She’s had roles in a ton of other Vancouver-filmed shows including Van Helsing, The Man In The High Castle and Blue Book.


Jennifer Connelly

The pilot episode for TNT’s adaptation of the original Korean movie Snowpiercer shot in town last summer. It’s also based on a French graphic novel. It stars Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. Netflix will distribute it internationally.


Daveed Diggs

Oakland’s Daveed Diggs is an actor, rapper and singer. He won a Grammy and Tony for his role in Hamilton on Broadway. He recently filmed in town with Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay in the movie Wonder. He’s back in town starring opposite Jennifer Connelly in Snowpiercer.


Freddie Highmore

After filming Bates Motel locally, Freddie Highmore decided to stick around for another leading role this time in medical drama The Good Doctor.


Daniel Dae Kim

Lost and Hawaii 5-O star Daniel Dae Kim is producing The Good Doctor based on the Korean series. He was also shooting a role in Always Be May Maybe, a comedy movie for Netflix, in town earlier this summer.


Jordan Peele

Comedian turned series film producer and director Jordan Peele is rebooting Twilight Zone. The series shoots its first season in Vancouver starting this month. Its slated for CBS All Access.


Katheryn Winnick

Ontario’s Katheryn Winnick, also known as shieldmaiden Lagertha on History Channel’s Vikings, stars in Netflix’s new martial arts drama Wu Assassins.


Tommy Flanagan

Glaswegian actor Tommy Flanagan known for playing Chibs on Sons of Anarchy also stars in Wu Assassins.


Steve Martin & Martin Short

Comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short bring their humour to the Queen Elizabeth Centre on August 2.


Jack White

The White Stripes front man Jack White plays Rogers Arena on August 12.


Boyz II Men

R&B group Boyz II Men play PNE Amphitheater on August 18.


Alice Cooper

Hard rocker Alice Cooper is still going strong after 50+ years in the biz. He entertains Queen Elizabeth Theatre on August 20.


Dean Brody

BC’s own Dean Brody plays at the PNE on August 21.


Mariana’s Trench

Vancouver pop band Mariana’s Trench plays a home crowd at the PNE on August 25.


Jann Arden

Canadian icon, Jann Arden plays the PNE on August 30.

Not Coming To Town Anymore

Cowboy Ninja Viking starring Chris Pratt and Priyanka Chopra was expected to film in multiple locations including Vancouver this summer.

Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt is set to star in Cowboy Ninja Viking. It was expected to start filming in LA and Vancouver earlier this year but just hired new writers in May. In June, Pratt confirmed they were gearing up to start shooting. But the studio has now put the project on hold.


Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood & Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead across Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking which was expected to do some filming in Vancouver.
