An urgent recall notice has been released after a number of popular food products were found to contain bugs. The Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFA) have said that the items were distributed nationally, and have thus affected Canadians nationwide.

BUGS IN FOOD RECALL

The recall notice, published on September 23, notes that the issue is regarding “extraneous material” found in food products. Specifically, it is “due to the presence of insects.”

Recalls are identified through 3 different classes. This issue is classified as a Class 3, meaning that there is a low risk that consuming the food can result in “any undesirable health problems.” However small that risk may be, it is still present.

The recalled food items are concerned with a variety of Dion brand herbs. Consumers and retailers are being advised to not use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products in any way.
