The sun’s out, so you know what that means? Get your bathing suit, goggles, and your floaties because it’s time to hit the pools!

If you’re looking for something to do this May long weekend, then look no further than your local outdoor swimming pools. Get your laps in and stay cool!

WHO’S OPEN?

Although Kitsilano Pool recently announced that they will be delaying their opening, that doesn’t mean everyone else is. Then again, who’s really surprised that Kits Pool is still closed?

While you’re all waiting to make a splash in North America’s longest outdoor swimming pool, the City of Vancouver has decided to extend the operating hours of its other pools. Increased public access to these pools will allow everyone to have their Spring/Summertime fun while the sun’s shining.

And if you’re looking to hit the beaches as well, you can check out our list of approved beaches (and parks) that you can legally drink at this Summer. May 17 marks the day when lifeguards will begin patrolling their designated swimming areas, too. You can check the full list here.

Stay safe and have fun! And let’s also hope that Kitsilano Pool actually opens this year.
