According to a VPD news release, “multiple people were stabbed during a violent altercation in the Granville Entertainment District early Saturday morning.”

Witnesses reported the altercation occurred inside the establishment. The altercation involved three male patrons, and its escalation resulted in all three sustaining stab wounds from an unidentified subject. A male bar employee attempted to intervene, but was also injured.

Until paramedics arrived, responding officers administered first aid at the scene. The four individuals were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Black man, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket.

“We believe this was a targeted incident tied to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said Constable Darren Wong. “We are asking anyone who witnessed the altercation, or who has information about what happened, to come forward and speak with our investigators.”

Those with information or video footage about the incident are asked to contact the VPD Major Crimes at 604-717-2500.
