Earlier this year a new movie theatre was proposed for downtown Surrey’s The Hub at King George Station. Unfortunately, it seems those plans are no longer in place.
The original proposal of the second phase of construction was to include: additional office spaces, condos, retail and the highly-anticipated movie theatre.

Locals seemed excited to have an alternative to Guildford and Strawberry Hill Cinemas.
A re-design shows an updated plan that no longer includes the movie theatre. Building developer PCI Group tells 604 Now that plans for the cinema is not in place at this time.

The Hub At King George Station Phase B Construction:
- 15-storey office tower at the new intersection of 98A & KGB
- 40-storey condo tower at Fraser Hwy & KGB
- 29-storey condo tower at Fraser Hwy & 137 St
- A 9,376-sq.ft. 2-storey restaurant south of the Coast Capital Building.
- An expanded plaza is the heart of the project, which will allow for retailers, such as the grocery store and restaurants to spill out onto with displays and seating.

A 112,535-sq.ft. single-storey retail podium consisting of two large format retailers (a grocery store and a drug store) and a number of smaller format CRU’s.

Photo: PCI There are also plans for two public art pieces, one installation will be situated in the plaza and the other in the traffic circle of 98B Avenue & 137 Street.
