Biking History on Cypress

“Cypress has a longer history with mountain biking than most riders realize,” explains Cypress Mountain. “Mountain biking has been an approved activity on this mountain since 2004, and Cypress built and operated a bike park in summer 2005 before pausing to be one of the host venues for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”

It’s been almost two decades, but Cypress Mountain is now bringing the park back. Fully modernized, this is going to be a spot for bikers of all levels to enjoy the sport atop one iconic mountain.

What Will the Bike Park Look Like?

All the trail design, planning, and building is being led by Gravity Logic Inc., which is a Whistler-based park design and build firm. They’re behind lift-accessed trail networks all across North America.

The bike park intends to offer lift-accessed riding with “flowy jump trails for those who love to build speed and catch air, technical lines for riders chasing a bigger challenge, and beginner-friendly runs for those just getting into the sport.”

As construction begins on the project, riders can expect Cypress Bike Park to open in summer 2027.
