Ciclo Café & Cocktail Bar Extends Its European Charm Into the Night With Late-Night Happy Hour

Coal Harbour has never been short on scenery, but finding a spot that hums from daylight to last call has been another story, until Ciclo came along.

Per Se Hospitality Group’s Ciclo Café & Cocktail Bar, already known for its espresso-to-aperitivo sensibility, has officially rolled out Late-Night Happy Hour, giving Vancouver’s waterfront a new place to unwind long after the sun dips behind the mountains.

It’s part of a broader shift in Vancouver’s hospitality scene, one that sees the city slowly embracing European-style social hours, casual, communal, and timeless.

Two ways to toast the day

At Ciclo Coal Harbour, happy hour now comes in two acts:

  • Daily from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Late-Night: Sunday to Thursday | 9:00 p.m. – Close
    Friday and Saturday | 10:00 p.m. – Close

Both sessions feature the same signature energy, think Mediterranean-inspired small plates, carefully built cocktails, and a crowd that feels more Milan than Mainland.

A cocktail list that travels across Europe

Ciclo’s bar team leans into craftsmanship without pretension. The Ciclo Espresso Martini ($15 during happy hour) has quickly become a local favourite, blending Teremana or Tito’s vodka with Licor 43, Tia Maria, and Grand Marnier, equal parts dessert and pick-me-up.

The Negroni de la Costa riffs on the classic with Empress Indigo gin and Bitter Bianco, while the Caribbean Old Fashioned brings a rum-driven warmth laced with allspice and bitters.

For something lighter, the Empress Bee’s Knees offers honey syrup, lemon, and a saline drop, a delicate nod to the bar’s focus on balance and texture. Each is priced at $15, bridging downtown sophistication with Coal Harbour ease.

Tapas and small plates designed for sharing

The late-night food menu reads like a greatest-hits list of Ciclo’s Mediterranean leanings. Favourites include:

  • Charred Ibérico Chorizo ($15) — smoky, tender, finished with piquillo marmalade and crème fraîche

  • Stracciatella e Alici ($15) — fresh Italian cheese paired with anchovies, olive oil, and balsamic

  • The Beef ($15) — slow-braised beef, Fontina, truffle aioli, and pickles on house-baked baguette

  • Warm Mixed Olives and Marcona Almonds ($5 each) — perfect companions to any cocktail

Guests looking to linger can finish with Tiramisu ($9.50) or an Affogato ($12), a scoop of vanilla gelato drowned in Ciclo espresso — optionally laced with Baileys, Amaretto, or Tia Maria.

From espresso to amaro, the flow of the day

Ciclo’s design mirrors its name, meaning “cycle”, a nod to the natural rhythm of the day. Mornings start with espresso and Italian pastries; by afternoon, aperitivos and light plates take over the marble bar. As the lights dim, conversation shifts to nightcaps, soft music, and candlelit energy that feels both European and distinctly Vancouver.

It’s the kind of seamless transition few venues in the city pull off: part café, part cocktail bar, entirely its own.

Coal Harbour’s new social heartbeat

Nestled at the edge of the seawall, Ciclo offers one of the neighbourhood’s most polished yet approachable atmospheres, a blend of cosmopolitan design, local ingredients, and waterfront calm. The late-night happy hour brings the neighbourhood’s professionals, travelers, and residents together under one roof, a reminder that not all good nights have to start in Yaletown or end on Granville.

As Coal Harbour’s hospitality scene evolves, Ciclo feels like its natural anchor: quietly sophisticated, comfortably social, and effortlessly modern.

Good taste, good timing

With $5 Peroni, $10 wine pours, and $15 signature cocktails, Ciclo’s happy hour offering proves that refinement doesn’t need to come with pretense. Whether it’s a golden-hour spritz or an espresso martini past midnight, the bar’s late-night hours invite you to settle in and enjoy the flow, one glass at a time
