The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has just issued a serious recall regarding a brand of tater tots, suspected to contain pieces of extraneous material– specifically plastic pieces.

The recall concerns McCain Tasti Taters brand Crispy Potato Bites, with the cited issue as due to potentially containing “pieces of plastic.”
Recalls are also designated with a classification, ranging from I to III. At the most serious end is a Class I, noting that consumption of an affected product can lead to serious health problems or death. The McCain recall is classified as a Class II, in which the product poses a moderate risk that “consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life threatening health problems.”

The notice was issued nationwide, with the CFIA advising consumers to not “use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products.” You can find the product details below:
