Following a late-night incident, RCMP report that three people are dead in Maple Ridge on July 23, 2025. This comes after police were called to the same area on 239th Street and 118A Avenue earlier that day.

No arrests were made during that time, although police officers spoke with a number of people.

Hours later, RCMP responded to a report of multiple incidents, including a break-and-enter and vehicle fire at the same location. Shots being fired were also reported.

In a statement released by Ridge Meadows RCMP, they say that “police officers from the Ridge Meadows RCMP attended to find two vehicles and the attached garage on fire, and two people deceased inside the residence.”

“The suspect was believed to be armed with a weapon inside a neighbouring home and police set up containment,” continues the statement. The RCMP worked with the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team to enter the home, although discovered inside was another deceased individual.

The fires were extinguished by the Maple Ridge Fire Department, and the matter has since been handed over to the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC). There will be no further information released by police, the statement notes.

There is believed to be no risk to the public as this was an isolated, targeted incident that resulted from a dispute between neighbours.

The third person reportedly died of self-inflicted injury.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is looking into the deaths of the first two people, who were identified as a man and woman in their 60s.
