With the possible full transit strike looming, Vancity Bikes is making it easier for people to get around.
The local bike rental company is offering daily rentals for just $5 during the strike days.
“With the impending Transit strike, we want to ensure that our community can still get to and from school, work, dinner, or where ever you need to be,” states the website.
You can get the deal by reserving a bike online, but remember to bring a credit card and proof of address when you pick it up.
Vancity Bikes is located near Waterfront station.
The deal is only valid during the bus strike days, Wednesday to Friday. Unifor, the union representing TransLink employees, is in talks Tuesday to try and reach a deal regarding the nearly one-month long strike.
While the strike has so far seen maintenance workers refuse overtime and bus drivers work out of uniform, there may be a full service shutdown this week.
