Uber Launches New Petition To Enter British Columbia

Uber Launches New Petition To Enter British Columbia - Uber Continues To Recruit Vancouver Drivers Through Social Media

Despite all that’s been thrown at them, Uber is continuing its fight to enter British Columbia’s transportation market, with a top reason being the potential for profits.

While the entry battle continues for Uber, Vancouver’s top four taxi companies are making major changes in an effort to modernize their services and convenience. While many people are speaking out against Uber coming to Vancouver, it seems as though the ridesharing platform still has a large demand indicated by its latest petition, which has collected 43,000 signatures out of the 50,000 it intends to collect.

According to the new petition:

People in 61 countries and over 330 cities worldwide have embraced ridesharing, using Uber to complete 1 million trips every single day in cities like Seattle, Portland, Edmonton and Toronto. But here in British Columbia, we are missing out!

Cities around the world are embracing ridesharing as a 21st century solution to problems of congestion, traffic and emissions, but the benefits of the Uber platform extend way beyond that. Consumers love Uber because its technology helps connect them to the safest and most reliable rides on the road. Drivers love Uber because the platform allows for increased earnings and total work flexibility. Cities love Uber because ridesharing provides entrepreneurial opportunities, decreased DUI fatalities, and better service in traditionally underserved neighborhoods.

From the looks of it, the Uber petition will likely hit 50,000, but that will only be a slight boost in momentum in an uphill battle for the ridesharing company.

As always, they’re keeping their heads high and being direct with their communications:
