Uber Eats just turned 10 years old in Canada! For their birthday, the delivery giant looked back on all some statistics to reveal exactly how Canadians are ordering their food.

This includes tipping habits— and the top-tipping cities may or may not surprise you.

Uber Eats: 10 Years In Canada

In a news release, Uber Eats wrote, “From late-night comfort food to groceries, flowers and makeup, Uber Eats has become part of the fabric of everyday life and reshaped the way Canadians can order what they crave. Now operating in more than 400 cities in Canada, reaching 85% of the population, Uber Eats hit 1 billion deliveries earlier this month.”

Included in the release was a special, 10-Year Edition of the company’s annual Cravings Report. This report details all the surprising insights of Canadians’ tastes and habits, which have evolved over the past decade. Some of the highlights include the most polite Canadian city, top-tippers, and the strange things that Canadians have ordered through the app.

Politest Canadian City, Big Tippers, and Other Surprises

Unsurprisingly, Vancouver is not one of Canada’s politest cities, at least according to Uber Eats data. That goes to Edmonton, with the citizens there saying “please”, “thank you”, and “merci” the most. Ottawa came in second place, and Toronto was in third.

And another statistic that will shock nobody: Vancouver was not one of Canada’s top-tipping cities, either. Instead, the country’s best tippers were from:

  • Calgary
  • Edmonton
  • Montreal
  • Halifax
  • Ottawa
  • Kingston
  • Hamilton
  • Winnipeg
  • Kitchener-Waterloo
  • London, Ont.

Besides politeness and tipping, the Cravings Report also included some interesting information on unexpected orders from Canadians. Over the years, people have ordered some strange items, including a space cowgirl Halloween costume, a disco ball, and a monogram dragon ornament.
