Western Canada’s urban music festival ‘FVDED In The Park’ is coming back to Surrey for its third consecutive year this weekend. The festival will take place at Holland Park on July 7th and 8th. There’s an impressive lineup of artists on tap to perform. They include: The Chainsmokers, Wiz Khalifa, PartyNextDoor, Dillion Francis and Ty Dolla $ign.

Video games | The Legend of Zelda: Defenders of the Triforce

Real Escape Game (REG) is a live, puzzle-oriented entertainment event. It is unlike an escape room in that there are many teams all sharing one big event space. Work with your teammates to explore the area, find hidden clues and solve puzzles.

Food | Vancouver Greek Summerfest 2017

Vancouver Greek Summerfest
Vancouver Greek Summerfest returns from Thursday, July 6th – Sunday, July 16th, 2017. Celebrate Greek food, culture, and music at St. Nicholas and Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church over 11 days. It runs from noon until 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. each day.

Outdoor movie | Theatre Under The Stars 2017

Theatre Under the Stars presents one of the most popular Disney classics of all time, Mary Poppins. It plays from Friday, July 7th, 2017 – Friday, August 18th at Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl. Everyone’s favourite nanny captures hearts anew as she swoops in to teach the Banks family a lesson in love and imagination.

Adult-fun | 19+ Adult Nights At Playland

The event will run every Friday in July, kicking off on July 7 and returning July 14, 21, and 28. Each event will run from 7:00pm through midnight. Guests can look forward to craft beer and wine, as well as Playland themed cocktails such as the candy floss martini and fresh squeezed hard lemonade. Mix this in with midway games and the wide variety of rides and you’re sure to have an interesting time.

Outdoor Shopping | Night Markets

The Illumination Night Market, Richmond Night Market, and North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market are all now open. In addition, Fridays on Front, a brand new weekly night market experience in Downtown New West opens Friday, July 7th, 2017. Fridays on Front will run every Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for eight consecutive weeks on the 600-block of Front Street.


Yoga | Free Outdoor Yoga At Kits Beach + Riley Park

Free outdoor yoga returned to Kitsilano Beach on Thursday, June 1st, 2017 and runs until the end of August. The daily free yoga classes are organized by Mat Collective. Not to mention, they will feature 1-3 classes each day with a variety of different levels.

The 7th annual Indian Summer Festival returns from Thursday, July 6th, 2017 – Saturday, July 15th. The 10 day festival has a whole lineup in store for this year’s theme: ‘Tales of War and Peace”. Grammy Award-winning musicians, oral storytellers, hip-hop artists and international visionaries will collaborate at this year’s festival held at venues across the city.

Pokemon | Pokemon Video Game Concert

Catch, battle and trade em’ all as the Pokémon franchise is put on stage for all to enjoy. The live concert Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions is hosted by the Pokémon Symphony and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on Friday, July 7th at the Orpheum Theatre.

The city-gym experience is conveniently led by her fiancé and final rose recipient Shawn Booth as well as Carrie Underwood’s very own personal trainer Erin Oprea. The event starts at 11:00 a.m.

Street party | Khatsahlano Street Party 2017

Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival, Khatsahlano returns on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. The event will take place all day from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The Khatsahlano Street Party spreads over 10 blocks along Kitsilano’s 4th Avenue, between Burrard and MacDonald.

Rollerblading | Stardust Free Final Skate

Before Stardust closes down for good, one final skate is taking place on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at “Central City Arena” as it is known as now. Weststone Group, the company that owns the property is looking to pay tribute to Stardust. A series of free family skates, including one by donation skate, will take place throughout the day.

Classical favourites | Symphony In The Park 2017

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is hosting their annual free concert at Deer Lake Park this weekend. Hosted by the City of Burnaby and VSO, it takes place on Sunday, July 9th, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. It features classical favourites and two of the most famous and beloved John Williams movie themes.
