Surrey Police Service has confirmed that officers attended the property on multiple occasions. They state that both the landlord and tenants contacted officers seeking assistance during the ongoing dispute.

The situation later resulted in Tiwana being arrested. Video shared online appears to show police officers taking her into custody at her residence.
Surrey Police confirmed the arrest but said prosecutors had not approved any charges at the time of its statement.

Raj Tiwana’s Response
Tiwana has reportedly disputed the tenants’ account of events. In her update following the arrest, Tiwana said in Punjabi that she is safe and doing well and thanked the community for its support. She said more than 300 customers, friends and long-time supporters visited her following the circulation of the videos.

According to her statement, the tenants allegedly failed to pay rent for several months, harassed her and caused damage to the property.
She said she pursued the matter through the Residential Tenancy Branch and that an eviction was officially carried out last week. Tiwana also claimed that the videos circulating online were posted after the eviction proceedings.
