Opinion: The Surrey 104 Building Should Be Turned Into A Massive Haunted House

The Surrey 104 building has sat on the between 141st and 142nd streets for over 18 years without a single tenant.

While an infamous Surrey eye-sore was recently ripped down, Surrey 104 shows no signs of coming down, or even being rented out. The owner is adamant that he wants a single tenant for the large building, and that has made renting it out extremely difficult.

People are frustrated with seeing it sit empty, as there are myriad things that it could be used for. From sheltering the homeless to being sold to simply being rented to multiple tenants, people have differing opinions as to what should happen with the uninhabited structure.

Surrey 104: Creepy Spot For Halloween Fun

With Halloween season turning Metro Vancouver extremely festive, some people contacted us and suggested that the building should be used for something a little more fun.

After sitting vacant and eerie for nearly two decades, it makes the prime locale for a haunted house. Moreover, it is huge, leaving ample room for spooky corridors and places to get chased around by creepy ghouls and monsters.

There could be zones allocated for all kinds of terrifying themes because of its immense size. Also, there’s already a considerable covering of cobwebs around the premises, so some of the decorating is already done. There could also be an area for a large Halloween party with live music, prizes for costumes, food, and drinks.

Do you think that the Surrey 104 building would make a prime spot for a haunted house? If so, what kind of haunted house?
