A gifting campaign called The Gift of Giving aims to sponsor 200 gifts for the women of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside this holiday season.
Gift packs include warm fuzzy socks, shea butter hand cream, holiday fig body wash and a personal hand written card. Vancouverites can sponsor the gifts by donating to #TheGiftofGiving2015 through generosity by Indiegogo: $20 for one, $50 for three or $100 for 6 (donation amounts are in USD).
In return for supporting the cause and sponsoring a gift, you will receive an invite to a Champagne “Thank You” event to wrap the gifts and write the cards in early December.
The idea of sponsoring gifts is to get the community involved and help support women who call a shelter home and may not otherwise receive a Christmas gift:
“We believe these Women deserve a wonderful, thoughtful gift this Christmas, not just discarded or unwanted gifts or products. We are so excited to be giving them a beautiful gift that they will feel special and loved when they receive it.”
