PNE / Playland Bans Selfie Sticks From Rides And Concerts

Selfie Sticks

For photographers of all levels, the selfie stick was perhaps the biggest phenomenon in the photography world during 2014.

Selfie sticks can be used in a variety of different ways, and are most popular for outdoor use, whether it’s a walk in a park, or at a summer festival.

While for the most part, the selfie stick is harmless, but depending on the way it’s used, it can be dangerous – and for that reason, Disneyland announced the ban of selfie sticks from their theme parks.

Following the announcement, CBC reached out to the PNE to see if they would follow suit.

“Currently selfie sticks are banned from the rides at Playland for safety reasons and concerts and shows throughout the site because they block views.” PNE spokesperson Laura Ballance told CBC.

Don’t let that stop you from bringing a selfie stick to Playland and the PNE however, you can still bring them in past the gates and use them outside of rides and concerts.
