It’s almost time to plan that day trip. The historic Othello Tunnels are finally slated to open in May.
According to BC Parks, officials will “strive to open the tunnels to the public for the May long weekend”.

These tunnels close annually during the winter months due to unstable conditions, falling rocks, and ice.

Located in Hope, the tunnels are over 100 years old, and are a series of five tunnels connected by bridges. They’ve been featured in several movies, such as Rambo: First Blood, War for the Planet Of the Apes, Fire with Fire, Shoot to Kill, The National Dream, and more.

Othello Tunnels
Hope’s Othello Tunnels are the perfect summer adventure for the entire family. The hike through the tunnels is a relaxed 3.5 km round-trip, making it easy for just about anyone to complete. For your own safety, flashlights are strongly recommended.

The tunnels are located in the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park in Hope, BC.
