The Rock was recently greeting fans in Surrey after a long day of filming his latest feature, Skyscraper.

The charismatic star has steadily became a fan favourite amongst Vancouverites because he is so friendly and easy to meet. He also gushed his love for the city in a recent Instagram post, describing his long history with it.

In his latest Instagram post he thanks Mayor Linda Hepner for opening up Surrey for filming. He also  gives a warm shoutout to everyone involved.

THANK YOU, Mayor Linda Hepner and her entire staff for the warm “We ❤️ DJ” welcome to your city. And thank you, British Columbia/Canada for welcoming me like a son. On a personal growth note, years ago this province served as catalyst for a defining time in my life when I was cut from the CFL and my dreams of eventually making it to the NFL were over. I didn’t understand the value of it then, but I certainly do today – making the CFL/NFL was the best thing that never happened. Remember that when life kicks our asses and crushes our plans. Have faith because sometimes that goal might be the best thing that never happened. Now where the hell is my tough guy macchiato pumpkin spice latte? #SkyscraperMovie #Surrey #Vancouver 🇨🇦

Skyscraper will begin filming downtown this week, as it moves from its Surrey locale near the city hall.

According to reports, the action-star will be filming some stunt scenes near Rogers Arena on Wednesday and Thursday.

Once he’s finished filming there he will move on to filming in the alley behind Malone’s Bar & Grill for shoots on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Sources say that those sets include the final shootout scene that includes some pretty impressive action sequences.

This might be the final week to catch a glimpse of the friendly action-star in BC. Fans looking to see him may wait for him to finish filming in these locations to say hello.
