Sometimes the best family adventures don’t require a long road trip. This one was less than an hour from Vancouver, making it the perfect weekend escape with friends and little ones.

The drive flew by. Before we knew it, city streets turned into quiet country roads, and suddenly we were pulling up to the entrance of Little Escape Outdoors in Langley.
Little Escape Outdoors
The first thing we noticed was the farm shop near the entrance. It was stocked with all kinds of locally made goodies, from pure farm honey and freeze-dried fruit to blueberry drinks and other treats grown or made right on the farm. It was one of those places where you immediately want to browse before even checking in.
From there, the road opened up to these beautiful green fields that seemed to go on forever. It was one of those places where you instantly slow down the moment you arrive.
After parking, we walked over to the main gathering area where everyone was hanging out under a large covered tent. Right beside it were the glamping yurts, and they were way bigger than I imagined.

A Different Kind of Camping Experience
These weren’t your typical camping tents.
Inside were real beds with comfortable mattresses and cozy bedding, plus electricity, lighting, and enough room for the whole family. Our yurt easily fit four of us, and I think a family of five would still have plenty of space. It honestly felt more like a cozy hotel room on a farm than camping.
One thing I noticed almost right away was how relaxed everything felt. There wasn’t anyone rushing to pitch tents or unpack camping gear. We parked our car next to our tent, dropped off our bags, changed into comfy clothes, and within minutes everyone was already outside exploring. I can totally see why so many families come back here. It has all the fun parts of camping without a lot of the work.
The little ones immediately ran over to see the slugs. Yep, slugs.

We got to feed the alpacas, horses, sheep, and goats, while adorable bunnies hopped freely around the farm. I don’t know who was more excited—the kids or the adults. Every time we turned around, there seemed to be another bunny running across the grass, and it quickly became everyone’s favourite part of the farm.
If you’re visiting during blueberry season, you can also pick fresh blueberries right from the fields, which makes the whole experience feel even more special.
Always Something to Do
There was always something happening throughout the day.
We tried archery, wandered around the farm, sampled local honey and other treats from the farm shop, and just enjoyed taking everything in. There was never a point where we were wondering what to do next, but at the same time it never felt busy or rushed. Some families were relaxing under the tent, some were out in the fields, and others were spending time with the animals. It was just one of those places where you naturally put your phone away and enjoy being present.
Dinner was honestly one of the biggest surprises of the trip.
The all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ was easily one of the highlights. We each had our own grill, there were so many different cuts of meat to choose from, and enjoying a BBQ surrounded by nature just made it that much better. Breakfast buffet was included the next morning too, which made the whole stay feel so easy.
As the sun started to set, the whole atmosphere changed.

After Sundown
Families gathered around the campfire while the little ones made new friends. We even got sparklers to light up before roasting marshmallows over the fire, which made the evening feel even more special. Once it got dark, everyone settled in for an outdoor movie under the stars. It honestly felt so cozy. Later that night, I started getting a little hungry and asked if there was anything to eat. Before long, the staff had made a big pot of instant noodles for everyone who was still hungry. It was such a simple gesture, but after a full day outdoors, it really hit the spot.
One thing I thought was such a nice touch was having a professional photographer there throughout the day. Usually one parent is always behind the camera, but this time everyone actually got to be in the photos together. The photos turned out so natural and candid, capturing all those little moments throughout the day. Best of all, they’re included with your overnight stay, making it one of those unexpected extras that made the experience even more special.
Just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, a light drizzle rolled in while we were sitting around the campfire. Every now and then, we’d catch flashes of lightning in the distance, making the whole experience feel even more magical.
Fun for the Whole Family
The next morning started with breakfast before everyone gathered around the fire to make bread on a stick. It was such a simple activity, but the little ones had so much fun making their own bread before roasting it over the fire. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that end up being the biggest highlights.
As we packed up to leave, we all agreed on one thing.
This didn’t really feel like camping.
It felt like someone had planned the whole weekend for us. With the meals, activities, and comfortable beds all taken care of, we could simply relax and enjoy our time together.
I can definitely see why families come back year after year. If you’ve been wanting to try camping without all the packing and setup, this is such an easy way to enjoy the outdoors.
For us, the best part wasn’t just the glamping—it was slowing down, spending time with friends, and watching the little ones make memories together.
