A Popular Brand Of Baby Snacks Were Just Recalled Across Canada For Potentially Containing Plastics And Paper

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has just issued a recall across the country for a popular brand of baby snacks. According to the notice, the recall was triggered by the company, and the CFIA is currently verifying that the industry is removing the affected products from the marketplace.

Gerber Recall

The recall concerns Gerber brand arrowroot biscuits, as they are believed to possibly contain pieces of soft plastic and paper.

The notice also notes that the recall is categorized as a Class III. This identification system divides recalls into three different classes, with Class I having the highest risk. Since this recall is a Class III, “there is a low risk that consuming the food may result in any undesirable health problems. This class also includes food that do not pose a health risk, but that do not comply with legislation.”

The affected products were reportedly sold across the country online. The CFIA advises consumers to “not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute recalled products.” They should either be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.
