One of hip-hop’s biggest global names is coming to Vancouver this spring.
Multi-platinum rapper French Montana will headline The Key on April 5, 2026. The show is presented by Unlocked Entertainment and marks one of the largest hip-hop bookings yet for the city’s newest 1,000-capacity venue.
For The Key, this is more than just another tour stop. It’s a statement.
A Global Hip-Hop Star Returns to Vancouver
Born in Morocco and raised in New York City, French Montana built his career from the ground up. He started in battle rap before transitioning into mixtapes and collaborations that caught the industry’s attention.
In 2012, he signed a joint venture deal with Bad Boy Records, Maybach Music Group, and Interscope. Soon after, he released his debut studio album Excuse My French, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
From there, his trajectory only accelerated.
His global smash “Unforgettable” featuring Swae Lee peaked inside the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The record later earned diamond certification from the RIAA and became one of the most-streamed hip-hop tracks of the last decade. In 2024, it officially became the most-streamed song ever from a New York artist.
He also delivered hits like “Pop That,” featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music while building his own imprint, Coke Boys Records.
Today, French Montana holds two major distinctions: he is the most-streamed African-born musical artist and the first African-born artist to earn a diamond-certified single.
Now, he brings that catalogue to Vancouver.
A Major Booking for The Key
The April 5 performance represents one of the biggest hip-hop shows announced so far for The Key.
Located at 750 Pacific Blvd near BC Place and Rogers Arena, The Key opened this year with a focus on immersive production and touring-scale performances. The 1,000-capacity venue sits at Plaza of Nations and aims to bridge the gap between smaller clubs and larger arena spaces.
French Montana’s booking signals the venue’s ambition.
Rather than easing into programming, The Key continues to secure globally recognized artists early in its run. Under the direction of Unlocked Entertainment, the venue has positioned itself as a serious stop for national and international tours.
For hip-hop fans, this show adds another major date to Vancouver’s spring calendar.
