Costco Is Issuing Refunds On These Baked Goods After A Mould Warning

Costco has just issued a recall for a brand of popular baked goods due to a potential presence of mould. The wholesaler is currently advising customers on the next steps and what to do with the affected product.

Costco Recall: Crumb Cheddar Chive Scones

The recall concerns The Worthy Crumb brand Cheddar Chive Scones (Item# 2009626). According to a notice sent out on March 16, 2026, the recall is due to a potential presence of mould growth on the product prior to the indicated best before date.

Give and Go Prepared Foods, the product manufacturer, has received three reports of complaints “associated with the consumption of these products. Limited instances of mould have been identified that may cause minor illness if ingested.”

The notice notes that the affected products were sold between December 2025 and February 2026 at Costco warehouses and Costco Business Centres.

“Please do not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute The Worthy Crumb Cheddar Chive Scones that are being recalled,” writes the notice.
