Cargo Plane With Two Pilots Missing After Departing From YVR

A cargo plane that departed from YVR this morning has reportedly gone missing, reports Global BC.

The cargo plane, Carson Air Flight 66, had two pilots on board when it departed from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) at 6:43am today and was expected to land in Prince George at 8:00am but Vancouver Airport Authority say they lost contact with the plane at approximately 7:10am.

According to Naval Lt. Paul Trenholm of the Join Rescue Co-ordination Centre, no contact has been made with the pilots of the Swearingen SA 226 aircraft before it disappeared from the radar.

The Vancouver Airport Authority is currently working with partner agencies including Rescue Coordination Centre to locate the plane. The JRCC has sent out a C-130 plane and two helicopters to help find the missing Carson Air Flight 66.

The disruption is currently not affecting other flights at YVR today.
