One of the most influential names in Canadian hip-hop is returning to the stage and Vancouver fans will soon get the chance to see him live.
Toronto hip-hop pioneer Choclair will perform in Vancouver on April 30, 2026, bringing his legacy catalogue and new music to Heist Vancouver in Yaletown.
The performance arrives as part of Choclair’s Transit Music Tour, celebrating the release of his first full-length album in nearly two decades and marking a major moment for fans of Canadian hip-hop.
A defining voice in Canadian hip-hop
For many fans, Choclair’s name is synonymous with the rise of Canadian hip-hop in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The Toronto artist helped shape the national music scene with a string of influential releases and collaborations that put Canadian rap on the map long before it became a global powerhouse.
He earned widespread recognition with hits like “Let’s Ride,” “Rubbin’,” and most notably “Northern Touch,” the iconic track widely credited with bringing mainstream attention to Canadian hip-hop.
Over the years, Choclair has built a career that spans multiple JUNO Awards, chart-topping singles, and collaborations with some of the country’s most respected artists.
His impact continues to resonate today, particularly as the global spotlight on Canadian rap continues to grow.
Celebrating new music with the Transit Music Tour
Now, Choclair is entering a new chapter.
His upcoming Vancouver appearance supports the release of Transit Music, his first full-length album in roughly 20 years.
The tour highlights both his classic catalogue and new material, giving longtime fans the opportunity to reconnect with the music that helped define an era while also introducing a new generation to his sound.
The Vancouver show will also feature appearances by fellow Canadian hip-hop figures Prevail and Moka Only, creating a night focused on celebrating the culture and legacy of Canadian rap.
Together, the lineup brings decades of Canadian hip-hop history to the stage.
A night of hip-hop in Yaletown
The show will take place at Heist Vancouver, a nightlife venue located in the heart of Yaletown that has quickly become known for hosting artist appearances, touring DJs, and live music events.
The event begins at 9:00 pm and runs until 2:00 am, transforming the venue into a late-night celebration of hip-hop culture.
Fans will have the chance to experience Choclair performing live in an intimate club environment, something that offers a different energy compared with larger concert venues.
For longtime fans who grew up with early-2000s Canadian hip-hop, the night promises a nostalgic return to the era when artists like Choclair helped define the country’s rap identity.
At the same time, the event introduces younger audiences to one of the artists who helped build the foundation of Canada’s hip-hop scene.
