A new list has just revealed a downtown Vancouver hotel as the second best in Canada.
U.S. News & World Report have released their rankings for the best hotels in 2026, with some locations including the U.S., Europe, Mexico, and Canada. Coming up behind the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, it looks like Vancouver is getting its well-deserved spotlight for its impeccable hotels.
Ranking Hotels
The hotel ranking list has a fairly rigorous criteria for it to be considered on the U.S. News & World Report’s rankings. According to the publication, the criteria is as follows:
- Select Hotel Class Ratings: U.S. News predominantly ranks luxury lodgings, as these are the type of accommodations travelers seek when researching the best hotels and resorts in a given destination. U.S. News defines luxury hotels as those that consistently receive a 4- or 5-star “hotel class” rating, which is determined by comparing the published class ratings assigned by several sources. U.S. News also ranks exceptional 3-star hotels in select destinations.
- Property Type: Properties must be classified as a hotel or resort by our data partners to qualify for the rankings. We do not currently rank apartments, hostels or other niche property types in the Best Hotels rankings.
- Minimum Review Count: A hotel must have at least 20 reviews from previous guests across various sources at the time of data collection.
Hotels are also ranked through an Overall Score based on a few components. This includes Awards & recognition, Hotel Class, and Guest Rating.
