With the soaring temperatures and raging wildfires, the air advisory continues for Metro Vancouver as of Wednesday, September 6th until further notice.
The fine particulate matter in the wildfire smoke is continuing to cause a thick, brownish haze over the city.

The air looks terrible, the sun looks like Mars, and no one wants to go to the beach; however, the issue is much more than simply aesthetic.
“High Risk” Air Advisory Issued
The toxins created when high temperatures fuse with the particles in the smoke are extremely harmful.
As the below table illustrates, the air advisory for all of Vancouver is extremely high risk today.
A quick look around the province shows a much different story, but all of Metro Vancouver is being warned about the danger of the air quality right now.
Anyone with a lung condition, the elderly, children, or any other serious health condition should take extreme precaution during this time. In fact, everyone in general should exercise caution when exerting themselves outdoors, and if possible, save your strenuous outdoor activities for when the weather clears.
