NEW WESTMINSTER’S COSTCO
Located in Queensborough, New Westminster, this new Costco is taking the place of the former neighbourhood Lowe’s. The warehouse will be around 142,000 sq. ft. with plans to increase its parking spot sizes, too.
Although, this Costco will not be the average Costco– instead, it will be a BusinessCentre. Business Centres are catered more toward businesses, selling specialized items as well as in bulk.
While they do offer their standard fares such as groceries and other daily-use products, consumers should expect the offerings to be more for businesses rather than the average customer.
This will be the Lower Mainland’s very first Costco Business Centre, located right next to a Value Village and the Queensborough Landing Outlet Mall.
OPENING DATE
The opening date was recently revealed by Costco content creator Andy Shen. In a flyer, and on a table, it reads that the official opening date is to be November 14, 2025.
Much local excitement has been caused by this new Costco location, although plenty of residents have their concerns about the influx of traffic that it may cause. One user online notes, “rip bridge”, in reference to the consistently busy Queensborough Bridge. Another user writes, “The traffic in that area is bad enough on a regular day.”
Metro Vancouver’s first Costco Business Centre is sure to be visited by folks from all over the Lower Mainland. The potential for traffic is high, but so is the chance to find a good deal.
