Vancouver International Airport welcomed a new airline with flights to Mexico today, September 6th.
The new carrier, Interjet, will provide year-round service between Canada and Latin America. It will fly direct, nonstop service to both Cancun and Mexico city.
New Flights To Mexico
In the wake of recent visa waivers for Mexican nationals coming to Canada the new routes promise to be very popular. In addition, the direct flights to Cancun offer greater flexibility for vacationers to the popular sun-soaked paradise.

“The new service will contribute $16.3 million in total economic output, including adding 106 jobs to the B.C. economy and $8.6 million in Gross Domestic Product to the province.”Vancouver International Airport stated in a press release. “It will also provide opportunities for B.C. businesses to reach new customers, suppliers and investors throughout Mexico and Latin America.”
The new service is set to begin on October 26th, 2017 out of YVR.
