Vancouver To Create Official Space For Love Locks, But Where?

Vancouver To Create Official Space For Love Locks, But Where? - Love Locks To Bring Culture To Vancouver

Love Locks have had a love/hate relationship with the City of Vancouver, but it finally seems like there will be a permanent location for both locals and tourists to secure their love.

The Vancouver Park Board has revealed that they will install a new sculpture dedicated to love locks in Vancouver, in one of thirteen proposed locations including Queen Elizabeth Park, English Bay, or Kits Beach.

The Park Board also shares that they will hire a local artist to create the unique sculpture once the location has been selected.

As for where the sculpture will go up, that’s up to you. The Park Board is asking residents of the city to vote, suggest, or completely reject location ideas. The survey will be open until September 16, with 13 potential sites:

  • Crab Park
  • Creekside Park
  • Elm Park
  • English Bay Beach Park
  • John Hendry (Trout Lake) Park
  • Jonathan Rogers Park
  • Kitsilano Beach Park
  • Memorial West Park
  • New Brighton Park
  • Queen Elizabeth Park
  • Riverfront Park
  • Robson Park
  • Vanier Park

Love Locks initially appeared on Burrard Bridge a few years back, but the city decided to have them removed for safety reasons.
