The Economist magazine has compiled its annual list of the world’s most livable cities, and has ranked Vancouver with top honours in Canada, and top 3 worldwide.
The ranking listed Vancouver as the third most livable city in the world, closely behind Vienna, Australia. Melbourne, Australia was ranked #1 overall.
Toronto and Calgary also made the list this year, ranking right behind Vancouver at the #4 and #5 spot; ultimately making Vancouver the most livable city in Canada.
Five years ago, Vancouver topped the global list, but since then it has been Melbourne Australia ranking #1 for five consecutive years.
The Economist annually analyzes and scores 140 cities across the world and ranks them based on lifestyles, including stability and safety. This leaves cities like Moscow, Detroit, Athens, and others near the bottom of the list.
