Vancouver Welcomes Flair Airlines And Their Cheap Flights Across Canada

After recently buying out NewLeaf Travel, Flair Airlines announced on September 11th that it is expanding its service to include Kelowna, Vancouver and Toronto airports.

The announcement stipulated that service would include direct flights between Vancouver and Kelowna, as well as Vancouver and Edmonton.

The carrier will also have service between Kelowna and Toronto, meaning that Vancouverites can make a connection in Edmonton to travel to Toronto on an economical fare.

The news comes as prices for round-trip flights with Air Canada and WestJet Airlines continue to rise. Flair Airlines offers a decidedly cheaper way for Canadians to travel.

Flair Airlines Expansion

Currently operating out of Abbotsford, Edmonton, Halifax, Hamilton and Winnipeg, the airline has proved a viable alternative for Canadians looking to save on travel.

“With a vision to serve 25 million passengers by 2020, we are pleased to welcome another new airline partner with Flair Airlines launching scheduled service at YVR this winter,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “Vancouverites will be thrilled to have additional options to get to Kelowna, Edmonton and Toronto just in time for the busy holiday season.”

While Flair Airlines tickets are much less expensive than the alternatives, be prepared for some additional costs. They charge fees for things like printing your ticket at the airport rather than at home, and for bringing on a piece of carry on luggage.

While you do have to pay to select a seat in advance and for bringing checked luggage, both Air Canada and WestJet Airlines also include these additional charges.

Regardless of the extra costs, Flair Airlines is an immensely cheaper way to travel this holiday season. Just ensure you know all the added costs before getting dinged at the airport.

Service from YVR will commence on December 15th, 2017.
