Translink Vows To Reimburse Users Affected By May 22 Shutdown

Translink has announced it will reimburse and provide compensation to users affected by the May 22 Skytrain meltdown that ultimately left thousands of people stranded.

Transit users who used a Faresaver or ticket on May 22, 2015 are eligible to receive a replacement Faresaver for the same category (one, two, or three zone). Users who submit a Daypass will receive a replacement one in return, and users with monthly passes will receive two Faresavers of the same category (one, two, or three zone).

Translink vows to reimburse and compensate affected users as long as they can provide a proof of purchase for May 22, 2015. Customers are directed to complete a pass replacement request and submit it with their proof of purchase in person at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station, or by mail to the customer service centre by Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

The announcement marks another unusual, yet positive move by the Transportation provider.
