This Is What Pemberton Looked Like After The Music Festival

The morning after is always rough, and for some more than others. One of BC’s largest summer concerts, the Pemberton Music Festival, took place last weekend and the aftermath was not a pretty sight.

The four day festival came to a close on Sunday night with over 115,000 thousand festival goers packing up their belongings and leaving town. What remained was an empty stage and a massive field of trash.

Facebook user Keith Harasymiw captured the mess on camera, and shared it on Facebook with the caption:

“Great job on picking up after yourselves at Pembyfest. Glad to see how much you all love your gorgeous BC. #Pembyfest #disgracefulmess”

The photo shows everything from plastic bottles, abandoned tents, camping chairs, coolers, inflated mattresses, and what seems like endless litter. Within 24 hours, the photo has received 30,000 shares and hundreds of comments.

According to Metro, festival organizers have approximately 200 volunteers and 50 sanitation workers on scene cleaning the messing, in what is estimated to be a 4-day cleaning project.
