American retail giant Target is pleased to announce the grand opening dates for its first stores in Western Canada, including 22 locations opening on May 7th (9 in BC, 3 in the 604) Target plans to open 124 stores across Canada throughout 2013!
Business analysts expect the launches of Targets will apply pressure on other big retailers including Walmart, Sears, and Canadian Tire which could mean lower prices for customers! However, B.C. shoppers won’t find the same deals they’re used to receiving across the border. Target has announced it will strive to be competitively priced with other Canadian retailers, but, prices could potentially be higher than American prices due to import taxes and a higher minimum wage.
