While there are no mega pop stars in town this month for concerts there are a number of Hollywood actors shooting movies and TV shows:

Anna Kendrick
Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick plays Santa’s daughter, Nicole Claus, in the Disney movie Noelle which started filming in Vancouver last October and wraps up January 19. Additional shooting is also taking place in Whistler. The Christmas movie is slated for release on November 8, 2019.

Candace Cameron Bure
DJ Tanner from Full House and Fuller House aka Candace Cameron Bure reprises her role in the 8th and 9th installments of the Aurora Teagarden TV Movies. The back-to-back productions are filming until February 28. The 7th movie in the series aired on Hallmark on January 7.

Freddie Highmore & Daniel Dae Kim
Freddie Highmore stars in The Good Doctor produced by Lost star Daniel Dae Kim. The show regularly films at Vancouver Community College and continues production of its first season until March 1. Highmore previously starred in Bate’s Motel which also filmed in town.

Katherine Langford
13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford plays the lead role in the sci-fi film Spontaneous which starts filming in town on January 29. It’s based on the young adult novel of the same name by Aaron Starmer.

Lucy Hale
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale plays Stella, who is cured from terminal cancer and has to deal with all the life choices she made during her dying-days. The pilot episode shot in Vancouver last year and was picked up for a full first season. Season 1 shoots around town until January 12 and premieres on The CW on March 7.

Bad Times at the El Royale cast
There’s good times ahead with Bad Times at the El Royale starring Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Russel Crowe, Dakota Johnson, Cailee Spaeny and Cynthia Eriv. The movie is scheduled to shoot from January 29 to April 6, 2018. Director Drew Goddard made his debut in 2012 with The Cabin in the Woods which also starred Chris Hemsworth. He is also known for being an Executive Producer in 2015’s space movie The Martian starring Matt Damon.

Dakota Johnson
Daughter of Hollywood royalty (Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson) was recently added to the cast along with Russell Crowe. She previously filmed the three Fifty Shades movies in Vancouver.
