TRON: Legacy, the 2010 science-fiction action sequel to the 1982 cult classic, filmed in Vancouver for just over two months in the Spring of 2009. Over a dozen film sets were created at a studio in Burnaby for the “virtual reality” 3D parts of the movie while the 2D “live-action” human world aspects used locations around Vancouver.
The movie saw Jeff Bridges reprise his role as Kevin Flynn and also starred Garret Hedlund as his son Sam and Olivia Wilde as Quorra. Bruce Boxleitner played three roles: Tron, Rinzler and Alan Bradley. It went on to gross $400 million (USD) at the worldwide box office for the franchise which also also has comics, books, video games and an animated television series.
