Nasim Pedrad, known for her celebrity impressions of Kim Kardashian, Arianna Huffington and Aziz Ansari on Saturday Night Live, will take the lead role in the new TBS ordered pilot show Chad. Pedrad will play a 14-year-old Persian boy named Chad in the comedy.
The Iran-born American actress is also the creator, writer and a producer for the show. She will no doubt be pulling in inspirations from her life as she moved to the US at the age of three.
The pilot episode for Chad is expected to shoot in Vancouver from March 25 to April 1. Fingers crossed the show gets picked up and shoots its season right here.
Vancouver scored more dramas this pilot season than any other city including New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. A total order of 10 drama pilot episodes shoot in Vancouver including 1 this past fall and 9 this month. That’s in addition to comedy pilots such as this TBS one for Pedrad’s Chad.
She is also known for her roles in New Girl, Scream Queens, Mulaney and People of Earth. The 37-year-old actress can also be seen as Dalia, a handmaiden and confidante of Princess Jasmine in this year’s Aladdin.
Her younger sister Nina Pedrad is also a comedy writer. She has written episodes for Will & Grace, New Girl and 30 Rock.
